Another Book? Why, Certainly!

So excited!Didn’t it seem like just yesterday that my fuzzy little romcom, The Rom-Com Agenda, came out? Well, that’s old news, fellow babies! Come meet HEDGING YOUR BETS!

Hedging Your Bets book cover; tag line "When small-town neighbors go head to head, better start...(Hedging Your Bets)"Anybody up for returning to the North Country of New York State for another hang with the folks from The Rom-Com Agenda? I know I am! But this time we’re going to leave the blasted tundra of a Willow Cove winter behind. Let’s shift instead to the lovely weather of spring/summer, boating, gardening…and Gillian Pritchard’s love life.

Okay, at this point I should say I’m sorry!! I’m sorry it’s not Delia and Gray, okay? I had no idea, and anyway Gillian’s story had been submitted ages ago, even before RCA was published. For real!

No, seriously, I literally did not expect all the Delia and Gray love. It’s great! Perhaps if we’re lucky they’ll get their due soon, but in the meantime, they’re all over Hedging Your Bets*, supporting Gillian as she re-enters the dating pool…and runs afoul of her new neighbor, Noah West, who might be sexy as hell, but who’s also a massive grouch.

Hedging Your Bets has enemies to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy and…grumpy, meddling old ladies, online dating and all its pitfalls, a hero smarting from a rough breakup, a high-stakes gardening competition, small-town shenanigans, a cartoon villain (because villains should only be cartoony in a cute place like Willow Cove). Oh—and a highly suspect garden gnome. Can’t forget him. And of course the gang from RCA is back. It wouldn’t be any fun without them!

Hedging Your Bets will publish January 9, 2024, but you can preorder now all over the place. And in the meantime I’ll be talking your ear off about it. of course.

Official details:

Opposites attract in this enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy of feuding neighbors and dueling hearts from the author of The Rom-Com Agenda.

Gillian has been happily divorced for several years and, after trying a few dating apps, prefers to stay that way. Navigating her way through dates with fat shamers and lackluster men has left her with no desire to do anything other than work in her garden in her spare time. Who needs rude comments and awkward first-date conversation when soft roses and vibrant tulips are so much better?

Noah West has just moved to Willow Cove. After a rough breakup that leaves him looking to get far away, he relocates to the same small town he spent summers in as a teen―and moves right next door to Gillian. A big believer in minimalist design and that the best kind of plants are non-flowering, he knows as soon as he meets his neighbor that they are going to clash on just about everything. Now if only he could keep his eyes off her too. That might be helpful.

When a gardening contest brings out the competition in Gillian and Noah, dueling plant arrangements and fiery banter ensues. But is it possible that beneath all their differences, they might just be perfect for each other?

Sound good? I love Gillian (and Noah) and I hope you fall for them too!

*Hedging Your Bets may come to your geographical area with a different title. Keep an eye out, Australia!
